My Experience:

This Cosmedic Lumi Fast Brightening Minute Mask comes in a glass jar which is a bit bulky and not so good for travelling. But we don’t really carry face masks in our handbags, Do we ??

I usually use a scrub and then apply this mask for maximum effect.  I moisten my face with a little water or rose water and then spread this mask. The Mask is quite thick in texture and it is a little difficult to spread. At first I applied it on dry face and it was wee difficult to spread. But the moistening tip really helps to spread this mask evenly and easily. There’s a mild tingling sensation till the time is stays put. It turns invisible almost after 2-3 minutes. The mask is a bit sticky and needs to be cleansed thoroughly with a lot of water. Next time, i will try to remove it by wiping with a damp towel.

After removing

It definitely gives a bright soft glow to face and I could feel that my face felt much more clean. The brightness stayed till the next day.  However, it dried my already dry skin. So, I had to apply loads of thick facial cream for the hydration again.

Over all, a great product to make dull skin looks brighter, especially in winters or for a quick fix before a special occasion. I would love to try more products from Cosmedic.

Ayur Deep Pore Cleansing Milk

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Today's review is about one of my most used but taken for granted product. Yes, at times, the ones that matter the most get neglected the most. But, no more neglect for this little sweetheart.

What Ayur claims about its Ayur Deep Pore Cleansing Milk :

Ayur’s Deep Cleansing milk is a natural herbal cleanser which gently lifts away make up, dirt and other impurities leaving the skin feeling soft, clean and healthy.

How to use

Apply with cotton wool or tissue on face and neck with upward and outward movements. To close the pores use Ayer’s astringents for best results.

My Take on  Ayur Deep Pore Cleansing Milk

I have dry skin and with the onset of winters, I generally shun soap based face washes and cleansers and stick to cream based or creamy cleansers.  After a long day at work, which involves 10 minutes walking, 45 minutes metro ride, 15 minutes walk, twice daily, I gather enough amount of dust and grime on my face to give me zillions of tiny little blackheads and bumpy skin. Aagghh ! So, once I reach home, I make it a point to cleanse my face with Ayur Deep Pore Cleansing Milk. Well, the way cotton looks after that cleansing is just OMG.  I feel like I am carrying 1/2 kg of dirt and grime on my face. The cleansing milk has a thin consistency which makes it easy to apply and wipe off.

After continuous use for like 7-10 days, my skin appears more healthy and radiant. The best part is it does not make my dry skin more dry and I can easily skip moisturizer after using this cleanser.

The price is around Rs. 75 for 100ml, which is soooo inexpensive. A must buy and try for sure.

Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roll On Review

Monday, February 4, 2013
For all those girls having those huge dark half moon below their eyes, welcome to my world. After trying tons of concealers without any success, I wanted to try this concealer eye roll on. So, let's just get to my short review.

What Garnier claims

Roll-on with dual anti dark circles action: Instant Coverage: Concentrated in mineral pigments, it covers dark circles in a flash. Soft, natural-looking finish, long lasting wear. Anti-dark circles hydrating care: Enriched with caffeine and pure lemon essence, it combines a hydrating formula and the draining effect of a massage to effectively reduce dark circles and reveal a radiant and fresh look.

My experience with Garnier Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roll On

A very light concealer, perfect for daily use. The concealer comes in roll-on packaging and the product dispenses out as you move the roller ball against your skin. the concealer is very light in texture, almost watery and very thin. The roller ball gives a very cool and soothing feeling on tired eyes. It needs to be blended very quickly and dries to a matte effect. I have mixed feelings with this tinted roll on. Coming to the good things, it has a thin consistency and can be easily applied and blended with the skin. The roller ball instantly soothes tired eyes and the cold metal makes eyes look more fresh and awake. The price Rs. 199 is very reasonable for 15 ml of product. It's waterproof. I splashed water on my eyes after 10 minutes of applying and it did not budge, though it can be easily removed with a light cleanser. I wash my face with Dove and it's gone. It works nicely as a eyeshadow primer too.

Like I said mixed feelings, let me get to the bad points now. The shades are very limited. I have fair skin but still the shade for fair skin does'nt match me anywhere near. The concealer dries up very quickly, almost within 3-4 seconds of applying and I found it to be really drying. It dries to a matte finish and this makes blending all the more difficult. The fine lines become more prominent even though the concealer does not settle in the fine lines. It looks very ashy on my eyes and makes me look ghastly, when applied but after a few minutes, it settles in and I end up looking somewhat normal from ghastly.

So, to try to make it work for me, I use a rich eye cream, sometimes even almond oil on my eyes before using. I have dry skin and the eye creams get easily absorbed but when I use almond oil, I wipe off the oil after 15 minutes with a moist cotton and then apply. It works quite well in this way. I don't think I will repurchase it again.

Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm Review - HG

Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm Review - HG

I usually share a LOVE LOVE relationship with Nivea products. Be it the tinted glosses, creams or body lotions. Most of the times, the products give fabulous results for a very affordable price. Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm is one such product. It’s a nice flavour, fragrance and colour free lip balm. That makes it good enough for men also to use. I have tried many many lip balms but this one has been a staple in my collection of lip balms. It delivers a quality like many high end lip balms. I have used Burt Bees lip balms also. Only wish it was also Minty like the Burt Bees. It applies easily and makes my lips feel soft and smooth texture almost immediately. I feel the need to apply again only after a few hours. On an average, I apply this lip balm 2-3 times a day. This is not a lip balm which you need to apply every 2 hours. It immediately makes my lips soft and reduces the fine lines which show more up more when lips are dry. In short, it makes lips slightly fuller. After application, it is slowly absorbed by the lips and keeps them moisturised for long time. It gives a nice subtle yet healthy sheen to lips, which is not at all OTT. I would still say that guys can also use it.

Ingredients: cera microcristallina, octyldodecanol, hydrogenated polydecene, cetyl palmitate, ricinus communis seed oil, myristyl myristate, cp/hexadecene copolymer, cetearyl alcohol, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, butyrospermum parkii butter, cocoglycerides, pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, vp/eicosene copolymer, c20-40 alkyl stearate, cera carnaube, simmondsia chinensis oil, panthenol, vitis vinifera seed oil, glycerine, cera alba, aqua, limonene, linalool, benzyl benzoate, citral, parfum.

Price - Rs. 99 for 4.8 grams

It is very easily available at most beauty outlets. It can be worn under lipsticks or applied over lipsticks. Needless to say, it’s colourless and won’t mess with the shade of lipstick.

I will definitely repurchase, Oh wait! I have already repurchased the Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm about 4 times. Each tube lasted me around 6 months.

I would recommend it for girls with dry and very dry lips, though in the beginning girls with very dry lips may have to use it more for their lips to get better and supple.

The Goods of Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm:

  • It moisturizes lips very well and makes them look slightly plump and supple.
  • Keeps lips hydrated for a long time.
  • Need to reapply only 2-3 times a day.
  • Inexpensive for the quantity and quality it delivers.
  • Tube packaging makes it very hygienic and travel friendly. The cap is also quite big and won’t loose easily.
  • Can be worn under and over lipsticks, without altering the shade.
I don’t find any Not so Goods. It’s my Holy Grail Lip balm.
