My Experience with Cashkaro.com

Sunday, December 29, 2013

Who does’nt love discounts on online shopping ?? Well, I before making any purchase, hunt over the internet for discount coupons for major online shopping websites like Jabong, Myntra, Flipkart. That was so till I found www.cashkaro.com.

Here’s what they say about themselves

Cashkaro.com is India’s leading Cashback and Coupon website. Our goal is to help our members save on their regular online purchases at leading Indian and International Brands. Our cashback and coupon partners include your favourite brands like Jet Airways, Yatra, Expedia, Flipkart, Myntra and 100s more. Since you shop at these brands anyway, this is truly free money, just for visiting the retailers through cashkaro.com. Learn more about how cashback works here. You can easily save Rs 1000s each year.

Unlike coupon sites in India, with our coupons you also earn cashback on top of the coupon savings. Furthermore, our discounts are always over and above any offers. For example, if you use a Cashback credit card, our cashback is on top of that. This makes our savings truly unique.
We are constantly adding new e-shops to our website. Happy saving.

Basically, instead of providing discount vouchers to shop on other websites, you just have to signup and create an account on cashkaro and click on the various offers available on Cashkaro and shop to your heart’s content. Cashkaro has one or the other major offers running everyday for all major online shopping websites.

You only have to make sure you go to your favourite shopping website from through Cashkaro website only to avail cash back. I purchased beautiful peep toes from Jabong through cashkaro website.

Here’s how it works:

Here’s how it works:

Cashkaro > Cick on Jabong on Cashkaro > Shop > Purchase > Get cash back after few days according to the offer.

I was given a Rs. 500 cash back by Cashkaro to make purchase. To be on the safer side, I requested for cash back before making a purchase. And Voila! I received a cashback within 5 days.

Disclaimer: Sponsored Post but Honest Review. I purchased shoes worth Rs. 899 with a voucher of Rs. 500/- from Cashkaro.

Life in a day with Lenovo Yoga Tablet

Tuesday, December 17, 2013
I wonder how I managed my life without a tablet till my dad gifted me one on my birthday (Alright! You guys know I made him gift one to me.) So, we went shopping. The moment I entered the store, my eyes fell on the Lenovo Yoga 8 B6000 tablet and all other tabs on display blurred out. I guess I would have snatched it from the display had it not been secured with the cable. Before even the salesman could take me through the features, I had made up my mind. The Lenovo Yoga 8 B6000 tablet was coming home with me.

I reached home and synced my work and blog emails, calenders, outlook, music, GPS, e-books, calorie apps, facebook, twitter and what not. It's like i shifted my entire life from my laptop to my Lenovo Yoga 8 B6000 tablet. I was amazed with the battery life it has and the awesomely crisp display. The Hold mode, stand mode and tilt mode are just superb and make it so convenient to use the Lenovo tab.

Here's how me and the Lenovo Yoga Tab spend life together now. (Yes! We are inseparable now)

I wake up around 7.00 am and check and respond to my emails, messages (whatsapp too, from friends overseas who were awake) with my cup of tea. I schedule my day and set reminders for work meetings, court visits). The tab also reminded me it's my Bestie's birthday today. Oh God! I almost forgot but the reminder in my tablet saved me and our friendship. Gotta buy a gift for her and surprise her in the evening. More on that later.

I get ready and prepare my breakfast. I can check how many calories I am going to consume in my meals. I got few emails again and reply to them while having breakfast, which can't be done with a laptop. There's always a fear that some foodstuff might spill on the lappy, but with Lenovo tab in stand mode, I am quite carefree that nothing will spill on my little precious. I go through my notes for the upcoming meeting and respond to emails. I head out for office and it's time for the boring 45 minutes ride in Delhi Metro. No worries, I usually plug in my earphones or read a book from my e-book collection.

Cut to office. I am late and the meeting is about to start. I forgot my desk keys at home, with my notebooks etc. locked inside. I rush to the meeting with my tab and take notes on my tablet. (Bye Bye Pen and Paper.) I think I noticed few people at the meeting ogling at my Lenovo Yoga tablet. (**Collars up**)

Meeting's over and it's time to make some preparations for my bestie's birthday. I call up the gang and we decide to surprise her later in the day at her home. Before the surprise, we need to get the cake and book a table at a fancy restaurant. Zomato comes to my rescue, for finding a bakery for cakes for checking out reviews of restaurants to decide which one to go to. Oh Wait! I forgot her gift. Too late and with a so much work at office, I can't go out to buy her favourite makeup stuff. Yes, she is a makeup lover like me. No worries. I log in to one of the popular online makeup and buy her gift card and email it to her. Phew. All done from my Lenovo tab. Since it's online shopping, I can't stop myself. I order a few things for myself.

After few more hours of work in the office and flaunting my tablet (**grins**) in meetings, I along with another friend head out in her car to the birthday girl's home in Gurgaon. Since, we both are equally good at getting lost, I decide to make full use of my Lenovo and use the GPS app to reach our destination. All thanks to the GPS app in Lenovo tab, we reach there in 50 minutes, without even having to stop once for human directions. She was so delighted that we planned so much for her Birthday, but umm....you guys know the true story. I will take the entire credit (and share a bit of it with my Tablet in shiny armour (Cover)).

After a few hours of celebrations, we come back home, again with the help of the GPS app. Phew. Saved a lot of time and fuel.

It almost 11 now. Time to hit the bed, but not before checking my emails once again. A lot of emails have flooded my email. Wait..The online shopping festival is going on. OMG. Huge discounts. I gotta do some huge online shopping now, all from my Tablet. Lots of retail therapy ahead. (Sorry Debit card and Dad :-P).

I check my tab once again to make sure it's charged. Yes. Almost 62% battery life, after a whole day of heavy duty usage. Wow. I am flattered.

In short, a tough day with lot of multi-tasking, all handled with a few swipes. I wonder if I will ever be able to manage my work, blog, shopping, multi-tasking etc. etc. without a my Lenovo Yoga tab.

A few things which I expect in my ideal tablet:

1. Quick processing speed, multitasking, feather-touch, long battery life, all at the same time.

2. It should have a sensitive touch screen and great responsiveness.
3. A lot of apps will make me very happy.
4. It should be very light and which I can carry easily in my handbag without having to carry a seperate bag.

5. It should be light and portable, so that I could carry it easily everywhere.
6. Different modes of using for different tasks, like watching movies, taking notes, reading.

7. The last and the BEST - It should look good enough to flaunt. Yeah! I want my Tablet to make other jealous. I would love it if people come to me to ask, "Which tab is that ?"

Mission accomplished.

I just realized that my list of must-haves in my tab are already there in my Lenovo Yoga Tablet.

Maybelline the Colossal Kajal 12 Hour Kajal Review

Monday, September 23, 2013
Hey Girls,

The Showstopper of today's show is Maybelline Colossal Kajal. Maybelline recently relaunched their best-selling the Colossal Kajal with a new 12 hour formula. The original colossal kajal claimed 6 hour wear. Read on to find how this one fared!

Price - Rs. 175
Qty - 0.35 grams

I had previously tried the 6 hour formula but it used to give me only 3-4 hours of wear time, after which it used to fade away. The new 12 hour formula is definitely much better then the 6 hour version. It comes in nice yellow black packaging. The packaging makes the Kajal easy to spot in my vanity box.

Coming to usage, it does not sting my eyes even a bit and stays put on my waterline for almost 6-7 hours. I haven't tried the 12 hour claim because as soon as I am back from office, I prefer to remove all my makeup.  I use it on my upper lash line also and it stays there for 6-7 hours, even though my eyelids are a bit oily. It's the blackest black kajal I have ever used. Love this soooo much. The tip is pointed and makes it so easy to make thin lines, if you don't like heavily kohled eyes.

The best part - It gradually fades and does not smudge. So, no more Panda/Racoon or whatever eyes we girls hate. :-P

Overall, its a great product and very well priced - it gives tough competition to all the other long staying kajals. For the quality and performance, I find it very pocket friendly. Do give it a try.

DID YOU TAKE YOUR PRO-GREEN OATH?

DID YOU TAKE YOUR PRO-GREEN OATH?

Do your little bit of good where you are. It's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world. - Desmond Tutu

15th of September every year is marked as the Pro-Green Day, The Nature's Co. overarching movement under which several Eco-friendly initiatives are executed. To start with, a recycling program called Eco barrel was instituted. This encouraged customers to return empty product containers in return for upto 10% discount on their next purchase minimizing The Nature’s Co.'s waste production. We also encourage customers to choose e-billing as a replacement for paper invoices in an effort to save paper. Distributing sapling and seeds and many more initiatives have been our small ways to create a bigger change. We have also tied up with several NGO's like Akanksha NGO, OASIS, Valaya Magic Foundation, Greenpeace, and many more.

Keeping the good spirit going, this year TNC does their bit by initiating the Pro Green Oath. These oaths are going to be distributed at all The Nature's Co. stores on the 15th of September . Each oath mentions a simple task as a way for the doer to do their bit for Mother Nature and humanity. These tasks will be very doable & simple things like watering a plant / tree in your vicinity or switching off all the lights and fans before you leave your room, which can be practiced in one's day to day routine. By the acceptance of this oath one will be vowing by the completion of the deed in full spirit. Once the good deed is done, the oath can be passed on to spread the cycle of good deeds and gives everyone a chance to participate.

To further boost the zeal, The Nature's Co. has arranged for hampers and gifts for the participants who create the longest Pro-Green Oath chain. Also, to create a stronger ripple effect for this social initiative, The Nature's Co. is also organising The Pro-Green Oath Contest among bloggers and the media. Customers can also avail a 15% discount on Pro-Green Merchandise which is a special range launched by The Nature's Co. consisting of the very-cute Mini Garden, Neem Pencil and the Pro-Green Band.

So let’s join hands and create a network of good deeds to help create social awareness and self awareness with a hope that it would be a permanent change in everyone's way of living.

Mia by Tanishq Blogger Contest - My Contest Entry

Tuesday, August 13, 2013

The Woman who is MIA happens to be my friend, my teacher, my soulmate, my guide, my partner-in-crime and everything. Words always fall short when it comes to describing her but she never fails to inspire me. She is no one other then my Mother.  Born and brought up in Calcutta, she chose to quit her work and instead INVEST herself in bringing up her children to make sure they become not only well-educated but good human beings. My Mother, the Perfectionist that she is, she loves to keep her house spotless, prepare mouth-watering dishes like no one else can, teach her kids. She LOVES what she Does. She is the one who taught us to be a better person, to never a judge a person from his/her education, profession and their appearances.  If one day God grants me a wish, I would ask to be the same mother to my kids as her.  Sometimes, I wonder if I can be half as good as her. The Perfect homemaker and the best Mother.

But wait, I am not finished yet.

Year 2009 was the turning point in her life, err..I mean Our Lives. Destiny had something very unpleasant in store for us. She was diagnosed with Breast Cancer which meant disfiguring surgery, extensive chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Instead of going into “how-can-cancer-happen-to-me”, she started ensuring that everything was in order, cooking and storing tonnes of food in the freezer, because she knows we don’t like anyone else’s cooking and so on, so that we, the ‘shell-shocked’ (my Dad, me and my brother) did not face any inconvenience during her treatment, when her movement may be restricted due to surgery and other treatments. Like they Say, ‘A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong it is until it's in hot water."  That’s my mother. Beautiful, Gorgeous and so Courageous.

My Parents at the time of their wedding.

The surgery, chemotherapy and the radiation never baffled her and thankfully the hard times are over. (Touchwood). Writing this itself overwhelmed me. But all’s well that ends well. By God’s grace, she fought every bit of it and is fine now.

That’s how women are. They love everything they do and they do it perfectly. For me she is still the Perfect homemaker and the bestest Mother.
My Mom with her brand new hair after the Chemo. The extra smile was for the Photographer (i.e. Yours Truly)

This is my entry for the Tanishq’s Mia and Ripple “As Beautiful As Your Work” contest

Saheli - Thread It Facial Hair Remover Spring - Review

Wednesday, July 17, 2013

How many trips to the parlour you make in a month, just to get rid of that moustache, I mean upper lip ? Twice, Thrice ??

If your answer is Twice, Read further.

If your answer is Thrice, don’t waste a moment and start reading.

Today’s review is about Saheli Thread IT, a facial hair remover spring, which can be used to remove unwanted hair from facial areas like upper lips, chin, lower sideburns.

CAUTION - Saheli Thread IT is not to be used on eyebrows at all.

What the Company Claims about Saheli Thread IT

"Thread It' is a specially engineered facial hair remover tool. It has been designed to be used by women to remove unwanted hair from the upper lip, chin, under chin, cheeks, jaw line and neck areas. It is a simple, safe, easy to self-use tool and provides better value for money than any other hair removal product.
The concept of 'Thread It' is similar to Threading. When the handles are rotated, the hair gets caught in the precision coils and is plucked from the roots.
The coils have been carefully designed to pluck even the finest  of the hairs."

My experience Saheli Thread IT

I am one of those lazy persons who will plan to go to a parlour only when my eyebrows start resembling like bushes rather then arches. My upper lips are a different story. Somehow, I could never gather the courage to get them waxed or threaded. Don’t know why ? so, what I used to do ? Ahem. Ask at your own risk. I would use my Gillette Satin Care Razor. Shocked ? Surprised ? Well, I am just a bit lucky with razors. (I have used Gillette Satin Care even since I was 15. I am almost 30 now.)

Clicked a pic with my hand just to give an idea of its size

Anyways, coming back to my upper lip, I had fine but visible hairs on my upper lips. Gillette Satin Care was my saviour always. I swear. Till I was sent Saheli - Thread It to use and review, by the brand.

It’s a spring almost twice long as your ring finger and it has to be bent in U shape and moved in downward motion to use it. As soon as it is bent, and moved in downward motion, it grabs the hair and pulls them out. The Picture above is self explanatory. All I can say is I loved it. It did hurt a bit, first 3-4 times but not anymore. Just a few downward motions and most of the hairs are gone.

My Hands are not that old and wrinkly in real. (Just Saying :-P)

It is not to be used on Eyebrows as it might remove the entire eyebrows and might be very painful.

Price - About Rs. 200-250, it can be used for almost 9-10 months. That’s what the brand claims. (Please check back after a year to know if it’s true. LOL).

So if you girls spot it, go for it. It’s definitely economical, time saving and very easy to use.

I think that it might be a bit more painful for girls who have coarse facial hair. I have only tried it on upper lips and not side burns, chin etc. Not much hair there.
