My Experience with MelanSol Moisturizer for Face & Body 

I have very dry skin on my face and dry skin on my body. So winters are like hell for me. No matter what creams or moisturisers I use, my skin starts to feel dry in few hours. And it’s double trouble since dry skin shows early signs of ageing. Eeeks. I hate my skin even more. So, the only option with me is to pamper my skin like a spoilt child with oils and moisturiser. And when i got a chance to use and review an all organic moisturiser like MelanSol, I was all more excited. 

The Moisturiser comes icy blue coloured pump dispenser packaging, which can be locked by twisting at the top. No fear of spilling. So, coming to the moisture, I have been using it for past one month now. a little amount is needed for face and entire body. I have finished less then ¼ th of the bottle with daily use. 

The moisturiser is quite thin in consistency, but that does not mean it’s not heavy duty. It moisturises my skin and disappears into my skin with rubbing just a few times, no oily feeling or stickiness. I used it everyday for  a month during and did not get any tanning. The sun was’nt really bright, so I used it before stepping out. The real test would be the soon approaching summers in north India. I hardly use a sunscreen in summers, but I am very eager to try this out. I can’t say much about the ageing because I don’t have any signs of aging yet. I am 28. Maybe they will appear after a few years.

My experience with Maybelline Clear Glow BB Cream 

The moment I saw the tube, I was a bit disappointed. It’s so tiny.  But, this little beauty has its own sweet advantages. It claims to be foundation, sun screen and a moisturizer and it is. It evens out my skin tone and gives a nice subtle healthy glow, which i always crave for. The shades are a bit confusing. I got the Nude shade which looks darkest in the images but it perfectly suits my fair and pale complexion. All these creams have yellow undertones which suit well to asian skin tones. It gives light coverage, evens out my skin tone and blends like a dream. It’s also very easily available.

I need a very small amount and apply it like a regular face cream. The consistency is not very thick nor very runny and is just right. I have dry skin and I need to moisturise my face first and then use it. It can also be mixed with moisturiser and applied. My T zone is oily and it did make it abit more shiny after 4-5 hours.

This has become my go to cream for everyday. The only con I find is the quantity. Its too less. I wish it was more, like 30 ml or so. It gets over very quickly. 15 ml is appropriate for eye creams not face creams. Maybelline, are you listening ??

My Experience with L’oreal Total Repair 5 Instant Smoothing and Nourishing Oil Serum

I can’t get myself to stick to one shampoo or conditioner (Bad for hair, I know, but I can’t help it. I get bored very easily) Hair serums are something new for me and my first hair serum was the Livon one which I started using a year back. This is my second serum and let’s see how it fared on my dry.....wait you already know about my hair, right ? I have constantly blabbering about it.

This serum comes in small bottle with hole opening for dispensing the serum. It helps to control the quantity of serum, depending on your hair type and length of your hair. I am quite liking this serum. It has a faint fragrance which does not bother me at all. I find all fragrances faint only unless something smells like kerosene oil.

A very little amount is needed for my shoulder length hair. The price is pretty reasonable too. It helps to smoothen out the frizziness of my hair and make it soft and it looks a bit silky too. It helps in detangling my hair too. I am not sure about its claim of repairing damaged hair because I did not notice any improvement in my hair texture. It does not make my hair oily unlike other serums which weigh down my hair.

Verdict - A good hair serum but it does not do everything it claims. I will repurchase it because it does make my hair look better, smoother and healthier. Price is quite reasonable.

My Experience Nature's Co Rosemary Hibiscus Hair Mask

Nature's Co Rosemary Hibiscus Hair Mask comes in a powder form and has to be mixed with water to form a paste and then applied. I used it 6 -7 times during the humid monsoons when my hair really frizzy and despite oiling and conditioning, I could see thousands of obnoxious little strands of hair popping out of everywhere.  I don’t have any dandruff or severe hairfall problem, though I do loose some strands whenever I wash my hair. My hair is quite wavy and dry and every time I shampoo, it becomes drier even after conditioning. I usually apply a few drop of oil mixed with water after shampoo for the dryness. 

Well, I used this hair mask for 30 minutes everytime before shampooing and I could notice a remarkable reduction in frizziness and dryness. My hair felt much more smoother to touch. I can’t say much about its claims for greying hair, thinning hair and dandruff, because I don’t suffer from these hair problems. 

Now coming to the bad part, the hair mask is a nightmare to apply. No matter how thick paste I make, it keeps on dripping all over my face, neck, clothes. It’s really difficult to keep it on for 30 minutes and all the time, I had to stay in the bathroom to avoid messing the whole house. I wish it came in a cream form or maybe by way of oil, which would definitely drip less.  Another con I find is that it’s quite expensive for the quantity it contains. It’s too less for the price. The hair mask has a weird smell, quite similar to the Indian spices, Garam Masala. Lol. Yup, I could make it out the first time i sniffed it. The smell comes only when the mask is in powder and when it is mixed with water, the smell is considerably reduced. 

Verdict - I does work on my hair and makes my hair less frizzy and more smooth, but I won’t repurchase it due to its high price and the mess it creates. I would rather try out those L’Oreal professional hair creams.

My thoughts on Motives by Loren Ridinger Eyeshadow

The eye shadow is very pigmented and the shimmer in it is such that it looks very glamorous for evening wear. I would love to team it up with a matte grey shadow. It does not crease at all even without an eye primer and when used with a primer, it looks even more vibrant. They give a smooth, satiny finish and is very easy to blend. I love their packaging, it is so sleek and can be easily carried around. The eyeshadow lasts very long, almost 5-6 hours. The only downside I can say is that it would not be very appropriate for day time office wear.
