Chambor Eye Tattoo Liner in Green - Review

Thursday, December 1, 2011
My brush with eyeliner is pretty recent. I was previously more of akohl and lipgloss person but after using eyeliners, I just can't get enough of them. They give such a well defined and dramatic look to eyes. Don't you agree, girls ? I recently got the Chambor Eye Tatto Liner as a part of my shopping from B.Lab You can check out my haul here

So, here's what Chambor claims about its Eye Tattoo Liner

Helps to highlight and shape your eyes to get the desired look. Be it natural sans make up look, simply subtle or dramatic fluttering eyes. Helps define & shape the eyes giving a Dramatic, Subtle or Natural look. Can be used both as Eyeliner & Eye shadow. Water Proof Stay On & Smudge proof.Dermatologist and Opthalmologist Tested.
  • Price Rs.325 for 1.15g
  • Available shades ET01 (Black), ET02 (Metallic blue), ET03 (Green), ET04 (Brown)

My Experience with Chambor claims about its Eye Tattoo Liner

I got the ET03 shade in green. I t is one of the most pigmented and soft eyeliners I have ever ever used. The colour payoff is too good and just a single swipe is enough. No pulling or tugging of eyelids. The colour is very dark green, almost green with hint of black. It has very tiny shimmer particles which don't look outrageous at all. The eyeliner is smudge-proof and water proof and won't come off even after splashing face with water. Needs a good eye makeup remover. I applied it in the morning and even after a small nap in the middle of the day, it was there on my eyes in the evening. And, it was not just traces of eyeliner but a well defined line. I was seriously surprised.

It looks so black, but comes out very dark green

My camera did not pick the colour well :-(

The only negative points about this eyeliner is it stings if I apply it on my waterline. I have another chambor eyeliner too which stings too when I use it on my waterline. Another thing is that it can be removed only with a good eyeakeup remover and a normal cleanser won''t be able to remove it completely. I tried removing it with olive oil/coconut oil but that too stings my eyes. The tip of the eyeliner gets blunt after 2-3 uses and has to be sharpened frequently. That's it. I can't think of any other negatives.

It's a must have eyeliner because of its colour payoff, price and staying power. It also comes in other shades like black, blue and brown. Now, I think I am going to get all the colours. What about you ? Have you used Chambor Tattoo Eyeliners before ? I am eyeing the brown and blue eyeliner now.

How to reduce Dark Circles

Wednesday, August 3, 2011
Hi Ladies,

Just a small post about what I have been doing since past 3 weeks to get rid of my dark circles.

Aloevera Gel and Moisturiser

Take Aloevera Gel and moisturiser in equal quantities

Blend well and apply

I have been using the aloevera gel and moisturiser mix for about 3 weeks now and I have seen some difference in my under eye area. It looks more better and light. Also noticed a slight reduction in the tiny lines/wrinkles under my eyes.

I also use this mix for my face and it has helped my dry skin a lot. I don't feel the dry itchy skin every time I wash my face.

So, even if you don't have dark circles, try this. It works for all skin types. If you have oily skin, use aloevera gel only as it absorbs the excess oil and keeps skin matte for a long time.

Do you have any tips on how to use Aloevera Gel. Do share with me here.

Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion - Review

Wednesday, July 27, 2011
Hi Everyone,

Sorry for not blogging since last so many days. Missed all of you so much..My health was in a bad shape but I am better now and back to blogging business. :-P

Today, I will be reviewing Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion. I have used this eye lotion for almost two weeks now and its the right time for a review.

What Liz Earle claims about Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion
  • Wake up and revitalise eyes with cotton wool pads soaked in this gentle, soothing herbal lotion before using Cleanse & Polish.
  • Non-oily, it is ideal for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
  • Apply to a cotton wool pad to clean and wake up your eyes first thing.
  • Naturally active ingredients include the grassland herb – eyebright, witch hazel, organic aloe vera and cornflower to help tone, cool and refresh tired, puffy or sore eyes.
  • Suitable for all skin types
How to Use
  • Apply Eyebright to cotton wool pad to clean and wake up your eyes first thing.
  • For a revitalising, soothing compress, soak 2 cotton wool pads in Eyebright and place over eyes and relax for 5 – 10 minutes.
  • Eyebright is light, non-oily and suitable for contact lens wearers.

    Key Ingredients
    • Eyebright Extract (Euphrasia officinalis) - Eyebright is said to be named after Euphrosyne the Greek goddess of good cheer, joy, mirth and merriment because of the gladness it brought to sufferers of eye problems. This tiny plant is still used by herbalists today to help reduce puffy eyes.
    • Witch Hazel Water (Hamamelis virginiana) - Witch hazel is a deciduous shrub or small tree. Its other common names, winterbloom and snapping hazel illustrate its unusually late flowering period and its explosive bursting seeds that can be ejected as far as 20 feet away from the plant. Naturally rich in tannins the distillate produced from witch hazel has a mildly astringent effect, helping to tone the skin.
    • D-panthenol - Otherwise known as pro-vitamin B5, this B vitamin is necessary for the normal functioning of the skin and has a moisturising effect. It also helps stimulate cellular renewal.
    • Cornflower Extract (Centaurea cyanus) - Considered weeds by corn farmers, cornflowers were found in Tutankamun’s tomb and were almost as blue as they would have been in 1550BC. An extract from these dainty blue flowers has been used for minor inflammations of the eye.
    • Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis) - The gel found in this cactus-like plant’s fat juicy fronds contain active ingredients to help cool, soothe and soften the skin. Aloe vera has been used for more than 6000 years to treat a variety of skin ailments, including sunburn, blisters and burns.
    • Glycerin - The glycerin we use is always vegetable derived. It is a humectant (attracts water), drawing atmospheric water onto the skin to aid hydration.
    Full Ingredients List
Aqua (water), Hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) water, PEG-60 almond glycerides, Glycerin, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Decyl glucoside, Panthenol, Centaurea cyanus (cornflower) extract, Euphrasia officinalis (eyebright) extract, Potassium sorbate, Phenoxyethanol, Benzoic acid, Dehydroacetic acid, Polyaminopropyl biguanide, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium methylparaben, Sodium propylparaben.

My Experience with Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion
    • I started using contact lenses a few days back and since my eyes are quite sensitive, it will take some time for my eyes to adjust with the lenses. So every time I used to wear my lenses for even 2 hours, my eyes would feel tired and all puffy. Using Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion made my eyes feel good as new and freshly awake.
    • Every time I use this lotion, I feel like I just bathed my eyes with chilled water.:-P
    • Instantly soothes and calms any irritations in eyes and brightens up tired eyes.
    • Fragrance Free
    • Very light in consistency and transparent in colour.
    • Removes light eye makeup also but does not remove the stubborn and waterproof eye makeup.
    • Does not leave any residue after use.
    • Helps to reduce dark circles.
    • Makes eyes bright and beautiful.
Overall, its another great product by Liz Earle and its a must have for everyone irrespective of whether your eyes are sensitive or not.

Aroma Magic Almond Eye Cream - Review

    Friday, July 8, 2011
    Hey Ladies,
How was Friday..? I always feel super active on Fridays. What about you?
Anyways, today I will be reviewing Aroma Magic Almond Eye Cream.
What does Aroma Magic Almond Eye Cream claim
Vitamin A, B and C give excellent tone and suppleness and minimize wrinkles and rings around eyes.

    Directions to use
Gently pat the cream around the eyes with finger tips and wipe off with damp cotton after 20 minutes.

Price  Rs 115 for 20 gm (I got this for Rs. 104)

    Active ingredients

Extracts of Lemon Peel, Almond, Bach, Grape Seed, Apricot and pure essential oils of Carrot, Palmarosa, Fennel and rose.

    Swatch of the Cream

My experience with Aroma Magic Almond Eye Cream

It has a thick, creamy texture and smells mildly of lemon. I don’t have a sensitive nose and that’s the only fragrance I could make out. J I applied the cream as instructed. I used the Almond Eye cream for about 3 weeks and could notice very slight reduction in my dark circles. Well, I am not complaining. I have tried a zillion eye cream and other products hoping to fade my dark circles but none of these worked. But Aroma Magic Almond Eye cream really worked though its quite slow in working. I also noticed that the tiny wrinkles under my left eye had substantially reduced. I am going to buy this again. The cream has a smooth rich texture and most of the times, I end up using it on the dry spots on my face. A tiny drop is enough to nourish the skin (let’s say one cheek).

The Good about Aroma Magic Almond Eye Cream
    • Very reasonably priced
    • Mild fragrance and people with sensitive nose can easily use it.
    • It helps to fade away dark circles and reduce wrinkles. In short, it delivers what it claims.
    • Can be used to remove dryness of skin on other areas of face.
The Not So Good about Aroma Magic Almond Eye Cream
    • Works slowly. I could notice reduction in dark circles after using this cream for 3 weeks.
    • Lists only the active ingredients and not all ingredients.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
