Ayur Deep Pore Cleansing Milk

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Today's review is about one of my most used but taken for granted product. Yes, at times, the ones that matter the most get neglected the most. But, no more neglect for this little sweetheart.

What Ayur claims about its Ayur Deep Pore Cleansing Milk :

Ayur’s Deep Cleansing milk is a natural herbal cleanser which gently lifts away make up, dirt and other impurities leaving the skin feeling soft, clean and healthy.

How to use

Apply with cotton wool or tissue on face and neck with upward and outward movements. To close the pores use Ayer’s astringents for best results.

My Take on  Ayur Deep Pore Cleansing Milk

I have dry skin and with the onset of winters, I generally shun soap based face washes and cleansers and stick to cream based or creamy cleansers.  After a long day at work, which involves 10 minutes walking, 45 minutes metro ride, 15 minutes walk, twice daily, I gather enough amount of dust and grime on my face to give me zillions of tiny little blackheads and bumpy skin. Aagghh ! So, once I reach home, I make it a point to cleanse my face with Ayur Deep Pore Cleansing Milk. Well, the way cotton looks after that cleansing is just OMG.  I feel like I am carrying 1/2 kg of dirt and grime on my face. The cleansing milk has a thin consistency which makes it easy to apply and wipe off.

After continuous use for like 7-10 days, my skin appears more healthy and radiant. The best part is it does not make my dry skin more dry and I can easily skip moisturizer after using this cleanser.

The price is around Rs. 75 for 100ml, which is soooo inexpensive. A must buy and try for sure.

I have been using the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser for almost a week now and my sample product is almost over. So, this calls for a review.

We only make one cleanser because this formulation is the ultimate in concentrated yet gentle cleansing power and works on every age and skin type.

Our plant-based cleanser has a 2-phase action, phase 1 is the cleansing. Free from mineral oil, it has a rich and creamy texture and swiftly removes all traces of face and eye make-up, even stubborn mascara.
Phase 2 is the polishing. Polish off the cream using the pure muslin cloth to help gently dislodge dead skin cells and help reveal clean, soft and radiant skin.

Naturally active ingredients

Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) - This rich, creamy butter which has moisturising effects on the skin is made from the roasted seeds of the cocoa tree, the same seeds that give us chocolate and cocoa.

Hops Extract (Humulus lupulus) - This herbal extract comes from the pinecone-like fruit of the hop plant and has astringent and toning properties.

Rosemary Essential Oil/Extract (Rosmarinus officinalis) - This renowned and once sacred herb has been used for centuries in beauty preparations. Rosemary essential oil has a fresh pungent aroma and is very invigorating and stimulating. The extract has beneficial antioxidant properties.

Chamomile Essential Oil/Extract (Anthemis nobilis) - This herb takes its name from the Greek kamai (ground) and melon (apple) because of the sweet apple-like fragrance it releases when trodden on. The essential oil is considered a gentle oil by aromatherapists and medical herbalists have used chamomile for soothing the skin for centuries.

Eucalyptus Essential Oil (Eucalyptus globulus) - Native to Australia, eucalyptus shoots are a favourite food of the koala. The cooling essential oil produced from the leaves and twigs has decongestant properties and is used by aromatherapists to ease muscular aches and pains.

D-panthenol - Otherwise known as pro-vitamin B5, this B vitamin is necessary for the normal functioning of the skin and has a moisturising effect. It also helps stimulate cellular renewal.

Glycerin - The glycerin we use is always vegetable derived. It is a humectant (attracts water), drawing atmospheric water onto the skin to aid hydration.

Beeswax (Cera alba) - The beeswax used in Naturally Active Skincare comes from the honeycombs in which bees store their pollen. It has skin protecting properties and helps to relieve chapped skin.

Cleansing - The Cleanser and Muslin Cloth
My take on Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

  • I don’t wear makeup everyday, but to try its claim on removing stubborn makeup, I used it on my long stay lip colors. Needless to say, all the colours vanished in one single swipe.
  • Cleanser has a very refreshing eucalyptus fragrance.
  • After using the cleanser for only about a week, my skin looks more clearer. Previously, I used to think that deep cleansing is required only if one uses substantial amount of makeup everyday. I was so wrong!! The dirt, pollution, sweat form an invisible layer on the skin. Well, the first time I used this cleanser, I could not believe my eyes on seeing how much grime was there on my face, more on my oily T-zone.
  • The Blackheads on my oily T-zone, nose and forehead, have almost vanished.
  • A very little quantity, about a coin sized amount is required for entire face and neck. I was sent a 30ml sample tube and there is still a lot of cleanser left, which i think will last for another 5-6 days.
  • Leaves skin feeling smooth, squeaky clean and glowing. It works as an instant facial cleansing for me.
  • No oily feeling after cleansing with the cloth. Girls, you don’t have to be scared of using this in summers. After cleansing, my skin does not feel oily or sweaty.
  • My dry cheeks do not feel dry after cleansing. Most of the times, after cleansing I (purposely :-D) forget to moisturize my face, which is not so with normal cleansers and face washes.
  • The  pure muslin cloths are to be used gently and provide nice exfoliation for skin.
There is nothing which I don't like about this cleanser, except that it is not available in India. :-( But, I have found a solution for that too. My cousin, who happens to live in United Kingdom. :-P So, whenever, she decides to visit me, I know what to ask for.
