Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm Review - HG

I usually share a LOVE LOVE relationship with Nivea products. Be it the tinted glosses, creams or body lotions. Most of the times, the products give fabulous results for a very affordable price. Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm is one such product. It’s a nice flavour, fragrance and colour free lip balm. That makes it good enough for men also to use. I have tried many many lip balms but this one has been a staple in my collection of lip balms. It delivers a quality like many high end lip balms. I have used Burt Bees lip balms also. Only wish it was also Minty like the Burt Bees. It applies easily and makes my lips feel soft and smooth texture almost immediately. I feel the need to apply again only after a few hours. On an average, I apply this lip balm 2-3 times a day. This is not a lip balm which you need to apply every 2 hours. It immediately makes my lips soft and reduces the fine lines which show more up more when lips are dry. In short, it makes lips slightly fuller. After application, it is slowly absorbed by the lips and keeps them moisturised for long time. It gives a nice subtle yet healthy sheen to lips, which is not at all OTT. I would still say that guys can also use it.

Ingredients: cera microcristallina, octyldodecanol, hydrogenated polydecene, cetyl palmitate, ricinus communis seed oil, myristyl myristate, cp/hexadecene copolymer, cetearyl alcohol, polyglyceryl-3 diisostearate, butyrospermum parkii butter, cocoglycerides, pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, vp/eicosene copolymer, c20-40 alkyl stearate, cera carnaube, simmondsia chinensis oil, panthenol, vitis vinifera seed oil, glycerine, cera alba, aqua, limonene, linalool, benzyl benzoate, citral, parfum.

Price - Rs. 99 for 4.8 grams

It is very easily available at most beauty outlets. It can be worn under lipsticks or applied over lipsticks. Needless to say, it’s colourless and won’t mess with the shade of lipstick.

I will definitely repurchase, Oh wait! I have already repurchased the Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm about 4 times. Each tube lasted me around 6 months.

I would recommend it for girls with dry and very dry lips, though in the beginning girls with very dry lips may have to use it more for their lips to get better and supple.

The Goods of Nivea Essential Care Lip Balm:

  • It moisturizes lips very well and makes them look slightly plump and supple.
  • Keeps lips hydrated for a long time.
  • Need to reapply only 2-3 times a day.
  • Inexpensive for the quantity and quality it delivers.
  • Tube packaging makes it very hygienic and travel friendly. The cap is also quite big and won’t loose easily.
  • Can be worn under and over lipsticks, without altering the shade.
I don’t find any Not so Goods. It’s my Holy Grail Lip balm.

Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm in Pomegranate

Monday, January 28, 2013

Hey Girls,

Today's review is about mine and almost everyone's favorite lip balm Nivea Fruity Shine in Pomegranate.

Let's see what it claims

Nivea Fruity Shine in Pomegranate with Fruit Extracts and Shimmering Pigments combines long lasting moisturisation and an exciting fruity pomegranate scent to replenish moisture, leaving a touch of delicate colour on soft and smooth lips. This new formula combines rich almond oil, jojoba oil and shea butter to keep your lips as soft and fresh as they can be. Contains SPF10 protection against UVA and UVB rays.

Price: INR 129
Net weight: 4.8 gm

Nivea Fruity Shine in Pomegranate gives a beautiful reddish brown or rosy brown tint and gives a beautiful colour to lips. It has nice sweet smell, though I am not able to identify the flavour in the smell. The smell is definitely not pomegranates though. The fragrance is not bothersome though girls with sensitive noises might not like it that much. The fragrance disappears after about 5 minutes of applications.

The colour is quite sheer but can be easily built up in 2-3 swipes. Layering it helps to cover pigmented lips but does not hide pigmentation completely. It also has SPF 10 which is definitely a plus. The packaging is a tube with a cap which is bigger than other lip balms which makes it easier to locate if the cap happens to fall down and roll away. Apart from the colour, it does a pretty good job of moisturising lips too. After applying this lip balm, my lips stay hydrated for 3-4 hours without any meals. I does survive sips of water though. I love it so much that I always buy 2, one for my dresser and one rests in my handbag all the time.

The Goods of Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Lip Balm

  • Gives a very natural tint to any kind of lips irrespective of their pigmentation.
  • Moisturisation effect lasts a good 3-4 hours without meals.
  • Inexpensive
  • Has SPF 10.
The Not so Goods of Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Lip Balm

  • Some girls may find its fragrance to be too much.
I love it. Will definitely keep on repurchasing till Nivea decides to stop producing this. I am sure everyone of you must have used Nivea Fruity Shine Pomegranate Lip Balm. What are your take on this ? Do let me know in comments below.
